FROM THE POET

This is a series of poems written by John Svododa over a number of years. There are times of peak-where numerous poems were written & there are also times of lows where there are long periods between each poem. As the author is trying to reach a goal of 1001 (and then retire!!) it was never envisaged that this would be done over a short period of time. Poems can be humorous, ridiculing someone or something, show a meaning of hurt or love or even project feelings that not necessarily be directed to the same person/thing, can be a reflection of life or to be life. Most poems are trying to send a message to the reader be it not understandable or nonsense.

The idea of this poet is not to have any ill feelings against anyone but to be read by young whom can learn about life – and by the elderly look back at what could have been. Some are very personal- but who cares when you are currently living in a life that has total enjoyment. Suggestion is not to criticize but to take in the enjoyment of creative poetry make it meaningful and thus may be you can be an author.

Poem Number - A NEW YEAR BRINGS.......... 1/1/2018

A new year means a new begining for some,
From being born and planning life's future fun.
A New Year is supppose to bring greater joy and laughter to everyone,
Yet the New Year does not hide the fact there is sadness around the corner to be found.
So each New Year we glorify as better than ever before,
Then comes the year when we lose someone close to you: dear to your heart more.
The loss dampens your happy thoughts of your year,
There is no such way that your loses can be replaced so far.
So each year is a mystery year: as we always provide best wishes to each other,
So the New Years brings goodness of life to each other.
What we don't wish to each other is comforting someone with a loss of a loved one.
Now is the time in the New Year, to seek to move on,
Yet it is difficult when in your heart is your loved one,
People question the reason of loss,
But none will know the answers nether the less.

Poem Number - Warren, You Are Thought Of..... 11/7/2014

Your thoughts are with us in each & every day,

As you take time away and  be more happier every day,

All your mates at work are with you all the way,

So let’s hope that all your life good wishes come true,  as to say.

You’re a man that cheers up the ones that need cheering,

You’re a person that has suffered and come out strong,

You’re the one that talk of good and wants to rid all of wrong,

You’re the one that  is the best for me to learn from.

Your cheer for the winning team,

You help the ones that need that guidance and shine,

You straight talk to All Managers, Team Leaders and employees,

You are the fair  to everyone and the first to provide assistance.

You share your life experiences, with everyone around you,

You touch the old ones and even the young and new!

Your biggest strength is within your own self,

A man you are that even brings the best of pride to one self!

Poem Number - Daughter Of Peace! 10/6/2014

A daughter is a sweet person that is like a golden rose,
She is feminine, soft, white as snow as she leans to grow,

She is the daughter that all parents hope for to have,
She is the daughter of proud parents, that gave her to birth.

A daughter will listen, learn, do and act the life she wants to have, in time,
A daughter will have easy decisions to make and make in a line,
A daughter will follow when young and later stand beside her parents,

A daughter will take the from the fishermen, the fish that needs to be cook and eaten,
A daughter will do her best to complete to her ability her highest education,
A daughter is the peacemaker when times of trouble,
A daughter will not get her feet wet in deep mud and rubble.

A daughter knows best when to care and love for others in deed,
A daughter is loved and to be loved by her marrying husband,
A daughter will have children so she will also be a mother,
A daughter will tend, feed, clothe her child and give it her wonderful nuture.

A daughter is a daughter forever, a mother in the future,
A daughter is a blossoming flower with such sweetness of scent,
A daughter is there and here, when her parents are needed and close to death,
A daughter says the words that places peoples hearts and lives, to rest in peace.

Poem Number - Is It All About Me? 2/6/2014

Is it all about me that lives in this world,
Is it all about me to have followed my parents,
Is it all about me to complete my high school education,
Is it all about me to grow up and and have friends.

Is it all about me to bring home a girlfriend,
Is it all about me to advertise my love for someone else,
Is it all about me that a woman chose myself for everlasting love,
Is it all about me to ridicule others an not feel shame.

Is it all about me that d the married the woman to share my life,
Is it all about me that we are from different backgrounds,
Is it all about me that both my wife and myself have children.
Is it all about me that I took a stand for Public Transport
                           within the community.

Is it all about me that I can speak to one another openly
                           to hundreds,
Is it all about me that every day I worry what lies ahead,
Is it all about me I have humiliated others by leaving
                     provocation of the community.

Is it all about me that I ashamed others for not finishing a job
Is it all about me that others are happy and I may be sad,
Is it all about  seme that I need be loved by others,
Is it all about me that I have served and not served more,
Is it all about me and not about loving my beautiful wife.

Is it all about me and not listening to God's call,
Is it all about me doing something bad rather than not at all,
Is it all about me that makes the world listen,
Is it all about me that I know when to turn one.

All I wanted in my life since my father passed away,
Is the world and our community to have each person a happy day,
Now time has come to place closure of what I have done as a
                               community group,
And a new page in my life is now to care for the people in my
                               family group.

I ask f no one to judge myself  of my actions,
I ask that we care and love one another,
As God and Jesus so truly love you,
I ask this on behalf of The Father, Son and The Holy Spirit.

Poem Number 267 - Decisions Of Importance - 17/2/1988

It is not many times that a decision of importance,
Is made by myself to benefit the company,
But when you sit down, side by side of your boss,
You have a general feeling of satisfaction, when he doesn't know everything.
You realize that everything depends on yourself, When your decision is of high importance, And it concerns the Administration you are involved in, And of course the appreciation of service by our clients.
So there you are, doing a job that someone else should be doing,
Or really should have done months before the new complete system was brought up,
But to no avail, my boss and I carry on with wasteful work,
As it left no one else to know what is right or what is wrong.
So tedious and repetitious this job may be,
It is left to myself to carry the burden,
Up to us to waste time that could have been spent somewhere else,
To utilize proper working time to fulfil a day's work.

Poem Number 248 - Our Original Decision - 2/2/1988

It has taken to put these special thoughts into words,
To express feelings of what both Nirmala and I want to say in words,
To me, it is not so difficult to write when it is need to do so,
But when you love someone or feel so close to someone you want it to be known.

It was Australia day of eighty-eight,
We decided to see my sister-in-law,
Whilst relaxed we are and were: the sun just a little hot,
The atmosphere was set for a long enjoyable afternoon.

This day also being so special to us and we have kept quiet,
Is like that on every Tuesday being ‘Nirmala’s day of prayers to her God.
This happens if she is not pregnant or going menstrual periods,
And our agreement is not to eat or drink alcohol on this day as well as meat.
It is an agreement I respect to her, as a husband of faith,
And whilst some people (mostly men) don’t understand this properly,
I have always done so, since our day of memorable marriage,
Except for this Bi-centennial day where I was embarrassed to drink.

My brother-in-law wanted me to drink beer,
But I tried to tell him that I didn’t want to drink it.
He asked, ‘Am I mad and do I wear a skirt?’
As I told what reason it was- that it was in my heart.

But I could see that Pushpa questioned Nirmala,
And I by Michael, who could stop laughing at me,
So I glanced at her for a moment or two,
To see her head in the positive nod while she was hurt inside.

It wasn’t so much that she was hurt, inside,
But Michael and Pushpa and possibly I put her to shame.
When I wouldn’t as so much take a sip of beer,
I could sustain myself but before I sipped, I disputed it with Nirmala.

Even when we arrived back home, she was quiet,
Yet when I brought it up, she said, ‘You do want you want!’
But it was said in a way that I had started this trouble from the beginning,
So I pointed out that I have decided to stay and honour with our original decision.

Poem Number 204 - Result Of Good Production - 17/2/1987

As time will pass on, from the younger generation to the youngest,
As tears will be shedding from an injured young girl,
Let those who don’t want to be educated properly,
Be free of their own thoughts of mind and will.

As parents give birth to our children and they grow in pain,
As our children will be the parents of their future children,
They that don’t want to participate in our whole world,
Should be locked away on an island, with no assistance given by anyone.

They that feel unwanted by others are they that oppose themselves to others,
May the cheers and happiness fall upon all of the good peoples.
May they stand up proud and look upon their lives,
As being the excellent final result of good production.

Poem Number 121 - Smokers Anonymous - 25/6/1986

Smoker’s anonymous is not for me,
As everybody knows that I smoke.
For someone who didn’t like smokers,
I had taken it for various reasons.

Sure, the main reason is that it is a habit,
But I just wanted a change to my life-style.
So, at the time, I moved out from home,
And had created havoc in all areas of daily routine.

The one thing I must admit,
Is that I was not forced into it.
It was a major decision,
That went beyond all my beliefs.

For one time being, I will eventually give up,
Which will at first be hard to do.
But with patience, time and essence,
It will be the outcome of my trial and error.

Poem Number 90 - Werong Camping - 8/1/1996

While I rest in the coolness, at the ‘Werong shades’,
It please me to be on my own, for once…
Only a few years had passed since I’d been…
Yet memories of that past, rest in peaceful minds.

Left of me, is a small ‘Ayres Rock’ surrounded by a barren jungle of bush trees,
In front of me, the conditioned timing of small breaks of the sea waves.
Rock formations are seen on either end of the nudist beach,
Right of me, is a creek hidden behind a typical Australian bush.

For any camper there is very little fuel to be found,
To cook at the hot food, which has been carted up from Otford Station.
Australians do not respect mother’s nature: leaving rubbish around,
Especially when they live in a habitat for a few days and change the environment.

I have so far, enjoyed my twenty-four hours stay,
While checking out the nude ”females bodies”,
This has been the first opportunity to do so.
The only thing is…I don’t have a woman, with me,
(Who would have enjoyed my company,
So open love could be made to her).

Eventually, this will be resolved by my waiting on time and plans,
Time of essence and plans of the perfect future.
I’m in no rush to marry, engage or live defacto,
An acquaintance is what I’m looking for… not troublemakers.

Poem Number 74 - Liberals - 19/6/1984

Should we subject ourselves, to a government in power?
Could they stop the wars, the cold and the rest of the weather?
With a choice of socialism or individual prosperities,
There is only one to choose and I’d leave that to your own capability.

Indirect taxes introduced by socialist governments,
Lead to unrest in communities and higher inflated rates.
“May those who aren’t employed, be employed”.
These are always to be said of men, of the two-headed.

Brining the employers down to the employees,
Let all have more legal 'Sickies',
Institutions and new government departments,
Be programmed to do new work.

Decrease our popular dole bludgers,
Make them work and they’ll be whingers.
May we tax private bank accounts of individuals,
And death duties, on top of every will!

May we legalize legislation, that hasn’t been passed before?
For example, the homosexuals: all they want is more!
May we squeeze what we can get from the rich and give it to the poor?
So that, when inflation is looked at, it skyrockets high!

Let those gun shooters aim their gun at us,
And we don’t see to make any fuss,
Whereas new community centers rise up,
Who pays the taxes? All of us.

May the government infiltrate all companies?
And suspend all inconsiderable union strikes.
Due to inappropriate regulations and laws,
Our society could end up being a socialist government.

Poem Number 72 - What Day? - 7/6/1984

If yesterday’s tomorrow was Thursday,
Then what is the day after tomorrow’s, yesterday?

Poem Number 51 - Hearing Whispers....Far, Far Away - 4/3/1984

Alone I am in my bed, feeling relaxed,
Lying and feeling the warm sheets on the bed.
I’m missing my girl's warmth and her conversation,
But I can hear her whispers, from far, far away.

Closer they get, with the volume increasing,
My ears are opened to what is being heard.
Then suddenly, “Troubles” jumps up onto the bed,
At least, she doesn’t want to be fed.

There is no other woman, whom I feel strongly towards, so much everyday,
I am very proud of her to make me feel, that way,
After all that was sad and done,
I only know, that nothing will ever go wrong.

Am I faced with the agony of her never returning back?
Or leaving me to make me feel, so free?
No. I will not be definitely-leaving my girl,
Because of juvenile decisions, I sometimes try to sell.

My main concern is for us to have a child,
Which would be such a wonderful experience.
My girl, a mother should be,
And myself, a father I will be.

My girl is a special person, who needs a hold to take care of a child,
She does not need training, to love and to look after a dear little one.
She would seem to be a gentle mother,
And to treat her child, very mild.

I’m not such a hopeless driver when I am able to drive my own car,
I haven’t been given a chance to drive, whilst someone else is there.
Please my girl, give me a chance as I do feel “Shitty”,
That you don’t give me that chance, of a lifetime.

I feel I should help you,
When you have those internal pains,
As I’d even go down on my knees,
To try and get rid of your pains.

We are in the red with all kinds of payments,
But don’t forget, we are both bringing a wage in,
To clear off my commitments

We will both always have our own way,
In our financial matters, which concern us,
But luck has not arrived…
To give me that chance.

A short spell from each other,
Will not split us apart.
This will bring us back together,
And closer will be our hearts

We will think of each, one another,
To imagine, that we’re both there.
On top of cloud nine,
And then, we really feel fine.

We have yet to set the important date,
As we’re still waiting to put through Michelle’s divorce,
A day when we’ll definitely remember,
As we unite and begin our own family members.

A day of joy, laughter and fun,
And later going towards the boiling sun,
Just lying on the sand, sun-glasses resting on our eyes,
Enjoying the peace together and forgetting of the entire human race.

Poem Number 49 - The Precious hand Of My Future Wife - 3/3/1984

My girl is a long way from home, again,
Army Reserve has taken her to Singleton.
I know this time; I won’t react like last time,
No! No! I am old enough not to act immature.

I have the courage, to think myself,
Not to feel so lonely without my true love.
As I wait to go to my first bucks night,
In a way, I’m not scared to go right through with it.

I won’t be drinking too much, for my own sake,
Making me think about how my own buck’s night will be.
Will I go blind and not be able to see,
Until the day, I take hold of the precious hands, of my future wife.

Poem Number 16 - My First Big Blue - 2/11/1983

As my mind was so confused,
On the first night of my big blue.
My heart was pounding: faster and faster.
Why did Michelle annoy me with all those telephone calls?
Why did she hurt me and say that those guys were her boyfriends?

Is it bad for me to get angry?
When she rings up her old boyfriends?
Would it be right for me to do the same to her?
Yes. It would definitely be bad for me to do that.

She, did not realize how bad I felt that night,
But, I know that she felt so unhappy and sad.
I pleaded guilty, as I had quite a few drinks,
As well as the drinks she consumed.

The woman that I love and I thought was so swell!
According to other people, who care about me,
Is it the reason that I am so immature?
For the first time, to me,
I drank like I was drinking straight water.

I could not find any words to say, at the time.
It’s like, if I rang one of my ex-girlfriends;
That is something I would not do,
As I know, I’d be doing something wrong.

I am a man, who is still trying to grow up and learn,
To be more of a man, can that be a big task?
Can’t I find the openings, of my own can?
Breaking out, with precious feelings, just to be opened at one end.

I know which hand I should take things in,
As I’m not such a person, who would like to hurt anyone.
I’m growing tenderly feelings of love, every day,
As both of us feel, the same about each other.

There never seems to be a wonder or question, in mind,
When She is not feeling very well.
I seem to feel the same as well,
I try my best, to comfort her and make her happy.
