FROM THE POET

This is a series of poems written by John Svododa over a number of years. There are times of peak-where numerous poems were written & there are also times of lows where there are long periods between each poem. As the author is trying to reach a goal of 1001 (and then retire!!) it was never envisaged that this would be done over a short period of time. Poems can be humorous, ridiculing someone or something, show a meaning of hurt or love or even project feelings that not necessarily be directed to the same person/thing, can be a reflection of life or to be life. Most poems are trying to send a message to the reader be it not understandable or nonsense.

The idea of this poet is not to have any ill feelings against anyone but to be read by young whom can learn about life – and by the elderly look back at what could have been. Some are very personal- but who cares when you are currently living in a life that has total enjoyment. Suggestion is not to criticize but to take in the enjoyment of creative poetry make it meaningful and thus may be you can be an author.

Poem Number - Daughter Of Peace! 10/6/2014

A daughter is a sweet person that is like a golden rose,
She is feminine, soft, white as snow as she leans to grow,

She is the daughter that all parents hope for to have,
She is the daughter of proud parents, that gave her to birth.

A daughter will listen, learn, do and act the life she wants to have, in time,
A daughter will have easy decisions to make and make in a line,
A daughter will follow when young and later stand beside her parents,

A daughter will take the from the fishermen, the fish that needs to be cook and eaten,
A daughter will do her best to complete to her ability her highest education,
A daughter is the peacemaker when times of trouble,
A daughter will not get her feet wet in deep mud and rubble.

A daughter knows best when to care and love for others in deed,
A daughter is loved and to be loved by her marrying husband,
A daughter will have children so she will also be a mother,
A daughter will tend, feed, clothe her child and give it her wonderful nuture.

A daughter is a daughter forever, a mother in the future,
A daughter is a blossoming flower with such sweetness of scent,
A daughter is there and here, when her parents are needed and close to death,
A daughter says the words that places peoples hearts and lives, to rest in peace.

Poem Number - Is It All About Me? 2/6/2014

Is it all about me that lives in this world,
Is it all about me to have followed my parents,
Is it all about me to complete my high school education,
Is it all about me to grow up and and have friends.

Is it all about me to bring home a girlfriend,
Is it all about me to advertise my love for someone else,
Is it all about me that a woman chose myself for everlasting love,
Is it all about me to ridicule others an not feel shame.

Is it all about me that d the married the woman to share my life,
Is it all about me that we are from different backgrounds,
Is it all about me that both my wife and myself have children.
Is it all about me that I took a stand for Public Transport
                           within the community.

Is it all about me that I can speak to one another openly
                           to hundreds,
Is it all about me that every day I worry what lies ahead,
Is it all about me I have humiliated others by leaving
                     provocation of the community.

Is it all about me that I ashamed others for not finishing a job
Is it all about me that others are happy and I may be sad,
Is it all about  seme that I need be loved by others,
Is it all about me that I have served and not served more,
Is it all about me and not about loving my beautiful wife.

Is it all about me and not listening to God's call,
Is it all about me doing something bad rather than not at all,
Is it all about me that makes the world listen,
Is it all about me that I know when to turn one.

All I wanted in my life since my father passed away,
Is the world and our community to have each person a happy day,
Now time has come to place closure of what I have done as a
                               community group,
And a new page in my life is now to care for the people in my
                               family group.

I ask f no one to judge myself  of my actions,
I ask that we care and love one another,
As God and Jesus so truly love you,
I ask this on behalf of The Father, Son and The Holy Spirit.

Poem Number - My Mother Was Your Mother! 20/5/2014

My mother was a mother who loved the world,
My mother was a mother that had many stories to be told.
My mother was gentle and was so so mild,
My mother, was to me so loved.
My mother spoke words of care.
My mother never made me dare,
My mother laughed and cried,
My mother made sure I was fed.
My mother worked outside of home,
My mother made her income on her own,
My mother with my father bought a house,
My mother to my father was a great spouse.
My mother made neighbours family,
My mother made family so friendly,
My mother had a gift of her own love,
My mother prayed to God from all above.
My mother was my Queen of my home,
My mother stayed at home and didn't roan,
My mother loved her children's children,
My mother gave her cooking experience to all men and women.
My mother was there when I played my sport,
My mother told me of my school report,
My mother make sure I did my home work,
My mother made sure I talk only when need be talk.
My mother became a mother to other people,
My mother always took to mass her missal,
My mother help when somebody asked,
My mother was beautiful like all mothers foretold.
My mother now rests in Peace,
My mother now will have her heavenly space,
My mother I will always remember,
As my mother was your mother!

Poem Number - Speak Out And Say! 14/1/2014

There is always a a reason to speak out and say,
Such importance  when to speak to the person/s and the time of day.
It can be said in various forms as long at the listener and receiver are near,
And so can be said  your words ares so spoken only to the ones with open ears.

For if you don't say what you have to say,
Then someone else might say it and say it in a different way.
For only you will know if it is the right time to speak and be heard,
And whether you need to speak again or like a shepherd listen.

Remain silent and others will speak together,
Speak out loud and the rest will be quite humble and not mumble,
Then will the dust build as down comes the feather,
They will watch and learns as it tumbles and tumbles.

Poem Number 269 - Millions Of Dollars Galore - 18/2/1988

Wouldn't it be nice to live in a dream that is real?

To lie back on a banana chair and soak up each days sun?

To be called up to a phone, yet no energy is used?

And to feel free to do anything you want to do?
Yes, wouldn't it be nice that your car is chauffeured around town,

You have a few party drinks in your limo,

While big business decisions you make by yourself,

And there is no need to touch any money you earn?

Yes, I suppose it would be nice to have an upstairs maid and

 also for downstairs,

Yes, I suppose that your mansion will be electronically fitted,

So that just a push of a button or two,

And all your dreams and wishes will come true!

Of course it would be nice if you were single,

And organising parties was the main event of your day,

But for the men who are married, to be divorced is insane,

And temptations to enjoy your life are limited but you can

 change that!

So you can still be free to do what you want to do,

With millions of dollars galore at your fingertips,

The way you spend it (or save it), is entirely up to you,

But you must remember most importantly to include your

special partner in your life!

Poem Number 267 - Decisions Of Importance - 17/2/1988

It is not many times that a decision of importance,
Is made by myself to benefit the company,
But when you sit down, side by side of your boss,
You have a general feeling of satisfaction, when he doesn't know everything.
You realize that everything depends on yourself, When your decision is of high importance, And it concerns the Administration you are involved in, And of course the appreciation of service by our clients.
So there you are, doing a job that someone else should be doing,
Or really should have done months before the new complete system was brought up,
But to no avail, my boss and I carry on with wasteful work,
As it left no one else to know what is right or what is wrong.
So tedious and repetitious this job may be,
It is left to myself to carry the burden,
Up to us to waste time that could have been spent somewhere else,
To utilize proper working time to fulfil a day's work.

Poem Number 256 - Banking To Save - 3/2/1988

Now we are married we have put our heads together,
To think and work out at first how much maximum we can save.
For the first few months we have found,
That you always want to purchase something extra, every fortnight.

But as you payoff the bills ‘Uno by Uno’
You financially workout the extra cent how much you spend.
Whilst doing that you can work out,
What proportion do you put aside for savings?

‘How do you do your banking?’ you ask yourself,
The thinking starts when you work out how many bank accounts you have.
That is, one for house savings, one for household items,
One for household bills and one for each personal shopping.

Then you work out what proportion you put aside,
For bills, household items (shopping) and personal shopping,
With most consideration given to the amount,
That is specially put aside to save for major items.

There are different ways of working it out properly,
Methods are completely different to the individual.
Yet for a couple to plan their life together,
Commonsense will be brought into ‘banking to save!’

Poem Number 244 - My Beating Heart - 21/1/1988

What do I have to say or do,

To make people who are close to me, realize,

That a joke is a joke not an argument,
Repeatedly, I say this to these close people.

People, whom I care, love and give a lot of attention too,
People, that don’t have that extra little bit of humour,
People, whom also care, love and give their attention to me,
But these people don’t realize that crying is important over an argument.

An argument for which I am asked to take the blame,
(Just like most others that I regrettably accept),
For which I am accused of hurting people,
For which I am to accept this unnecessary accusation.

No marriage of mine to my wife will break up!
No wife of mine (Called ‘Nirmala’) will pack her bags and leave,
Not even me will pack up, go and break our marriage,
I have thick skin like my beautiful wife and nothing between us will bleed.

Kiss of love I will always give to my wife,
Kisses from deep within my beating heart,
And I will from now not raise my voice to high,
Because of being accused of starting arguments.

Poem Number 212 - Daytime Dreams - 10/10/1987

Daytime dreams walking ‘around’ town all the times,
Imaginations of the past, present and the future,
Make us live a life of a nomad man,
Not finding the right way to lead our life on.

And there she is, walking on her own,
I want to go and ask her to come back to my own love home.
Yet I have never met her pretty face,
Maybe I should join the walking blind human race!

A strangled rope, I see right afore me,
My senseless life, I want to cut myself off,
But no sooner than my committed suicide attempt,
She had saved me from the darker side.

A walking kiss she gave to me,
Hugging me tight, not letting me go,
Laying me down to a sexual sleep,
She had stayed with me all night to morn.

Poem Number 190 - Silentness Combined With Reality - 14/10/1986

Stare at face you don’t know at all,
And you’ll get different reactions of each one.
Stare at faces you do not know so well,
Then it would mean ‘terrific’, for you.

To look at mouths of faces,
And see very little smiles expressing some joy,
You look around and what do you see?
Answer: down to earth, trodden down faces.

You search on the outlines of their cheekbones,
You search across to their dark hidden eyes,
You wait until they glance back at you,
Nothing on their faces will be enlightening us.

You search for positive feelings towards happiness,
And little response is your final return.
Not even one! Not one damned movement!
Just silentness combined with reality.

Poem Number 130 - Guess My Age - 11/7/1986

It’s a year since my last,
It’s four years since my twenty-first,
It’s twenty-four years, since I can’t remember my first,
It will be another twenty-five years, when I think about retiring.
How old do you think I am?

Poem Number 123 - Sex, In Reality - 25/6/1986

Sexual intercourse is the tie,
Which links up both, men to women.
It can be used as a product or merchandise,
Of which, is not medically suggested for anyone to do.

“Sex”, as it is commonly known,
Either men or women can use it inappropriately,
And can also result in criminal charges,
Via sexual rape and molestings.

Sex cannot lead to death,
But it can in the long-term,
Lead to another life,
Of which, both parents should accept the big responsibility.

Sex is the communication kink,
Which generates excitement and happiness,
For the period of time, that is done,
Although not many continue sex with the same partner, after the first time.

Sex can be used as an unkind word,
But should not be used in the wrong context.
However literally it is taken,
It just relates to the description of a biological reaction between both of the sexes.

Children may know little or nothing at a small age,
But, as they grow, their parents should tell them.
To let your children ask and wonder why,
Until the day, it happens to them in reality.

Poem Number 94 - Strange I Feel - 16/5/1986

To be seen, there’s no city from two hundred metres,
All around me, while I travel on an autobus.
Just inches away, sit people I do not know,
Yet, outside this autobus is the world we live in.

The same trip in and the same trip out,
Is there anyway that these trips will eventually stop,
to be no stops, no traveling and no people around?
I cannot answer that that is decided by others.

Yet, we all run everyday to meet our daily requirements,
To do what has to be done or what’s not to be done.
Is this human rat race coming to be exhaustive?
Though people don’t give a damned, of themselves?

The chances of survival, every single Australian has the opportunity,
To what advantage they use their time, brain and direction.
Affects each one of us in every single day, that is lived,
No matter whether, we all fail or all succeed, we would learn from each other.

Strange, I feel that I don’t know these travelers,
Strange, that these travelers don’t know me sight.
Yet, the people I know don’t travel in the same,
Maybe new explorations of relations to others.

Why there are unanswered questions of lives?
When the single life on earth is a beautiful creation.
Life is such a wonderful experience, we all go through,
Making new explorations of relations to others.

Maybe there are answers to all questions unanswered,
Maybe there are questions to be answered,
Well, each one of us know the answers to our own true life,
But we cannot supply all others for others.

Poem Number 81 - A New Year - 1/1/1985

This is the start of a new year, for all of us,
This year, is so special for me,
As it is the year I can stand so tall,
Not like what I was last year, looking so small.

I’ve heard from the years of last,
And I’ll always look back at my: up and down past.
From here on in, I’ll look after myself,
And not leave myself sitting on the shelf.

As I am a man, a man I should be,
Not making my decision on my own,
But listening to others and clearly hear,
Not knowing that I have, so grown.

Maybe I need to educate myself,
In every possible way, in what I want, in my life.
Will anyone answer what I want to question?
Will they become my friend, without hesitation?

There’s only one person, whom I know,
Can answer all of that.
And we know who that is!!!!!
Me.             Me.                Me.

This coming eventful year to follow,
I’ll try not to beg, buy or borrow.
If I do, I’ll just cause more time wastage,
And will never reach the limits of my first imaginary life.

Words are spoken, so fast,
As we hear the bells chime.
With a man, who’s life has gone to part,
Do we hear him cry,” have you got a dime?”

Rushed in quietness that freshens all thoughts,
In such a unique way, so no one else should know.
As the liquid flows from the write able pen,
Till he looks out, towards the wall clock that shows the hour of ten.

He as it been so long, that there wasn’t any sleep?
Does he still feel strong enough, to carry on with the day?

Poem Number 39 - Miracles - 23/1/1984

I’ve never written a poem like this,
To annoy a woman that I’ll miss.
This lovely woman of maturity and certain response,
Is a true woman of love and no nonsense.

I ask myself in true respect,
What can I truly pick on her on dispense,
But I cannot and really will not disaffect,
This woman of her own beauty and self-respect.

Yet, she acts so mediocre in manner,
Childlike she really accepts.
I love her game and true love, is the same,
Who am I to cause the blame?

AI act like the man-in-charge,
Never mistaken for the boy-in-charge.
Yet myself, feel young inside,
And I’m not entitled to a bribe.

If miracles could happen, in honest reality,
Wouldn’t my life end up,
Oh so happily?
I better shut up and not act like a drip.

Poem Number 7 - Queens? Questions? - 9/10/1983

Do you always have to work?
Are you the breadwinner of the family?
Maybe, you should think about this, very seriously?

Questions? Questions? Why do we have to ask at all?
Answers. Answers. Do we have an answer at all?

Is life so important, that you don’t seem to see your wife, that often?
Is it possible, to explain that, you are such an understanding person?

Do you really treat your wife so righteously?
Do you think that you are so silly?
Yet, you love your wife, so much more than ever?
That your hearts are opened to, one another.

Poem Number 5 - Possible? - 19/9/1983

Is it possible to share, the company?
Of someone, so nice and pleasant,
As the closeness and fidelity, is all the same.
The love, which the sun to a person creates a suntan.
