FROM THE POET

This is a series of poems written by John Svododa over a number of years. There are times of peak-where numerous poems were written & there are also times of lows where there are long periods between each poem. As the author is trying to reach a goal of 1001 (and then retire!!) it was never envisaged that this would be done over a short period of time. Poems can be humorous, ridiculing someone or something, show a meaning of hurt or love or even project feelings that not necessarily be directed to the same person/thing, can be a reflection of life or to be life. Most poems are trying to send a message to the reader be it not understandable or nonsense.

The idea of this poet is not to have any ill feelings against anyone but to be read by young whom can learn about life – and by the elderly look back at what could have been. Some are very personal- but who cares when you are currently living in a life that has total enjoyment. Suggestion is not to criticize but to take in the enjoyment of creative poetry make it meaningful and thus may be you can be an author.

Poem Number - The Colours Of One's Loss. 15/1/2014

May the fields bloom with roses of all colours,
May they bring us happiness as we smell the airs freshness: the best of scents.
Isn't it great that the sun will shine early in the morn,
From the day your parents brought you into the world as a new born.

Each child is brought into the world as being as special as they truly are,
Each breath, each heart beat each moment of living on our earthly space,
The time is precious as the child learns about living the life it does in worlds of war and peace,
That  then warms the hearts of all other humans around as they keep their lively pace.

Grown up are the children now, they become the parents of their children and later grandchildren,
It is the life they want to live they they will live,
As they go down the straight roads with slight left and right bends,
Out of the darkness of all travels with come the shinning bright light of God's Calling.

So the waters of the worldly seas with stop to waiver and be still,
Sands Hills will turned into plush green plains with no hills,
Forests will be tranquil as the bush makes its own sound,
Creeks will gently flow on to rivers making lives mend.

Thus the day of darkness will come to each one of us,
A day will end when we mourn for our  life's superstars,
Yet, we will never forget those that so loved us,
As we  always  remember the one's we so loved, our life's shining stars.

Poem Number - Is It All About Me? 2/6/2014

Is it all about me that lives in this world,
Is it all about me to have followed my parents,
Is it all about me to complete my high school education,
Is it all about me to grow up and and have friends.

Is it all about me to bring home a girlfriend,
Is it all about me to advertise my love for someone else,
Is it all about me that a woman chose myself for everlasting love,
Is it all about me to ridicule others an not feel shame.

Is it all about me that d the married the woman to share my life,
Is it all about me that we are from different backgrounds,
Is it all about me that both my wife and myself have children.
Is it all about me that I took a stand for Public Transport
                           within the community.

Is it all about me that I can speak to one another openly
                           to hundreds,
Is it all about me that every day I worry what lies ahead,
Is it all about me I have humiliated others by leaving
                     provocation of the community.

Is it all about me that I ashamed others for not finishing a job
Is it all about me that others are happy and I may be sad,
Is it all about  seme that I need be loved by others,
Is it all about me that I have served and not served more,
Is it all about me and not about loving my beautiful wife.

Is it all about me and not listening to God's call,
Is it all about me doing something bad rather than not at all,
Is it all about me that makes the world listen,
Is it all about me that I know when to turn one.

All I wanted in my life since my father passed away,
Is the world and our community to have each person a happy day,
Now time has come to place closure of what I have done as a
                               community group,
And a new page in my life is now to care for the people in my
                               family group.

I ask f no one to judge myself  of my actions,
I ask that we care and love one another,
As God and Jesus so truly love you,
I ask this on behalf of The Father, Son and The Holy Spirit.

Poem Number - My Mother Was Your Mother! 20/5/2014

My mother was a mother who loved the world,
My mother was a mother that had many stories to be told.
My mother was gentle and was so so mild,
My mother, was to me so loved.
My mother spoke words of care.
My mother never made me dare,
My mother laughed and cried,
My mother made sure I was fed.
My mother worked outside of home,
My mother made her income on her own,
My mother with my father bought a house,
My mother to my father was a great spouse.
My mother made neighbours family,
My mother made family so friendly,
My mother had a gift of her own love,
My mother prayed to God from all above.
My mother was my Queen of my home,
My mother stayed at home and didn't roan,
My mother loved her children's children,
My mother gave her cooking experience to all men and women.
My mother was there when I played my sport,
My mother told me of my school report,
My mother make sure I did my home work,
My mother made sure I talk only when need be talk.
My mother became a mother to other people,
My mother always took to mass her missal,
My mother help when somebody asked,
My mother was beautiful like all mothers foretold.
My mother now rests in Peace,
My mother now will have her heavenly space,
My mother I will always remember,
As my mother was your mother!

Poem Number 267 - Decisions Of Importance - 17/2/1988

It is not many times that a decision of importance,
Is made by myself to benefit the company,
But when you sit down, side by side of your boss,
You have a general feeling of satisfaction, when he doesn't know everything.
You realize that everything depends on yourself, When your decision is of high importance, And it concerns the Administration you are involved in, And of course the appreciation of service by our clients.
So there you are, doing a job that someone else should be doing,
Or really should have done months before the new complete system was brought up,
But to no avail, my boss and I carry on with wasteful work,
As it left no one else to know what is right or what is wrong.
So tedious and repetitious this job may be,
It is left to myself to carry the burden,
Up to us to waste time that could have been spent somewhere else,
To utilize proper working time to fulfil a day's work.

Poem Number 264 - Rules - 5/2/1988

Everyday of each individual’s life in society,
We live upon rules and regulations that control us,
Even before we set our foot inside our front door,
There is an understanding, household rules we have to adhere too.

Poem Number 260 - Dictionary Of Words - 3/21988

Locating a word in the dictionary,
Is easy to do if you know how to spell,
And you only search for it to get a better understanding,
Or the complete meaning of it, so you can relate it to someone else.

Poem Number 243 - Something For Nothing - 10/1/1988

Upset for no person but blame, I did,

It was such a day like the day before,
That I got upset for something that was for nothing,
Looking, searching, searching and yelling, blaming my wife.

But that was wrong, totally wrong of me,
Yet for minutes by minutes I was all-alone,
Just to find where my cigarettes had gone,
And after all that, I found them by the phone.

My love I apologized to her immediately,
With no straightaway answer I expect at all.
With forgiveness of sweet flowers all fresh,
I pleaded and begged for her forgiveness for my mind.

Yet, we had not expected to fight and love as we do,
We have told each other, even before our day of marriage,
That we will love each other forever and ever,
Yet, with this love will come equal shares of arguments.

For if two people of opposite sex and same feelings towards each other,
Do not have a rocky road on their way to total devotion towards each other,
And there was not even a tiny noise or abuse or upset that was shared between themselves,
This could not be forever, as they haven’t really got the love God’s given them.

Poem Number 218 - Marriage Of Future - 23/10/1987

To this date, marriage has not meant more to others,
Than just two people signing a legal document of ‘life binding’.
People seem to marry divorce and again marry & divorce,
Yet so many first marriages seem to represent false images of two people’s love.

Marriage is such an important step and decision in ones adult life,
That we even hear of marriages of conveniences.
Who knows if they couple that sign this document a both?
Are genuinely interested to share the rest of their lives together.

And yet, dramatically once living together under the same roof,
There seems to be a change in lifestyle for the individual.
Not realizing that for a continuous happy marriage,
Joint plans of every nature must be to both’s delight.

So correct decisions must be made on behalf of two not just one,
And on the way to the futures success, there should be a little fun.
Communication of all sorts must be attended too,
So that doesn’t get his or her wires crossed.

My marriage of future will be one of thoughtful thinking,
With my wife I will talk and listen for anything of importance.
Whilst plans of long term goals are passed by us,
I will always have fun, laughter and happiness with my gracious wife.

Poem Number 184 - Resigned: Pauline - 7/10/1986

Maybe it’s best to let things of enormous decisions,
Be put aside and lay directly, on the edge of the table.
But to hear of such a beaut persons to resign,
Only my thoughts of that news, would like me to be drowned in a pool.

Pauline! Pauline! You are many of many, that have passed and gone,
You’re pay packet will rise so high in the sky,
Your home loan will be slightly easier to pay off,
Of the little time I’ve known you (as a working companion). It’s hard to believe!

You may leave with a paycheck of big interest,
But don’t think that’s the last you’ll see of us,
As we’ll keep the friendship you have shared with us,
Wrapped up, like golden ribbons, glowing through a bright new rainbow.

No tears, will you shed at your last day of work,
But the memories of different characters, will ponder you through the years,
May we just say, if what you are doing is good for you,
Don’t stop or change your mind, cause you’ll never like the workload here, at ‘Pru’.

Poem Number 134 - 'Pip' The Lost Cat - 22/7/1986

To the little ‘Pip’, that has just disappeared,
May you front up at our home for food.
With your spotted black and white fur coat,
With little pad-like feet softly wandering around.

We adopted from the cries of the dark side,
The cries of a lost kitten finding a new home,
Caring and loving was my mother to her,
Was the newfound owner and cuddlier of the kitten.

Purring to a feminine touch of one’s hand,
Sleeping in soft, comfortable living conditions,
Was she, who never bit any of us,
And roam around from house to garden and played little kitten games.

To me, she will arrive back with stitches and all,
The loss of joy will be back to normal.
Once the news of the small ‘Pip’ kitten is shown,
Everyone will roll back to his or her daily routine.

Poem Number 110 - Red Carpet - 10/6/1986

There are so many items on my list of buying,
From clothes, to a motor vehicle to an apartment.
But the one thing that I don’t want to buy or sell,
Is the greatness of love with Carla.

I have never felt the same as before,
Only once was I involved with a whore,
This time, I know this is the right person,
To be in love with me, such a sweet woman.

If only, I had a car to drive us out,
If only, I had the choice of clothes for night,
If only, I had enough money saved,
They are the 'If’s', that I don’t like.

For Carla, deserves more than the red carpet,
She deserves mature tender loving care,
Not to be used by any man at all,
So she can stand up, on her feet so tall.
