FROM THE POET

This is a series of poems written by John Svododa over a number of years. There are times of peak-where numerous poems were written & there are also times of lows where there are long periods between each poem. As the author is trying to reach a goal of 1001 (and then retire!!) it was never envisaged that this would be done over a short period of time. Poems can be humorous, ridiculing someone or something, show a meaning of hurt or love or even project feelings that not necessarily be directed to the same person/thing, can be a reflection of life or to be life. Most poems are trying to send a message to the reader be it not understandable or nonsense.

The idea of this poet is not to have any ill feelings against anyone but to be read by young whom can learn about life – and by the elderly look back at what could have been. Some are very personal- but who cares when you are currently living in a life that has total enjoyment. Suggestion is not to criticize but to take in the enjoyment of creative poetry make it meaningful and thus may be you can be an author.

Poem Number - The Colours Of One's Loss. 15/1/2014

May the fields bloom with roses of all colours,
May they bring us happiness as we smell the airs freshness: the best of scents.
Isn't it great that the sun will shine early in the morn,
From the day your parents brought you into the world as a new born.

Each child is brought into the world as being as special as they truly are,
Each breath, each heart beat each moment of living on our earthly space,
The time is precious as the child learns about living the life it does in worlds of war and peace,
That  then warms the hearts of all other humans around as they keep their lively pace.

Grown up are the children now, they become the parents of their children and later grandchildren,
It is the life they want to live they they will live,
As they go down the straight roads with slight left and right bends,
Out of the darkness of all travels with come the shinning bright light of God's Calling.

So the waters of the worldly seas with stop to waiver and be still,
Sands Hills will turned into plush green plains with no hills,
Forests will be tranquil as the bush makes its own sound,
Creeks will gently flow on to rivers making lives mend.

Thus the day of darkness will come to each one of us,
A day will end when we mourn for our  life's superstars,
Yet, we will never forget those that so loved us,
As we  always  remember the one's we so loved, our life's shining stars.

Poem Number 225 - Sun Burnt Feeling - 2/11/1987

There are times I feel like (jokingly) killing myself,
There are times I feel like listening to my conscience,
And of course times I haven’t heard from anyone else,
Which leaves me to say, ‘What a fool I am, at times’.

Taking my girl to Bondi Beach just to sun bake and have a little dip,
Well, I could have stayed all day, just staring at bare boobs,
Of which, sometimes were planted in front of your face,
But of course, I enjoyed the warm soaking sun on my back.

After hours of no suntan lotion splashed on my body,
My pains of intensive heat started to cause that sun burnt feeling,
I arrived home, with no sweat to bear,
But plenty of moans and groans, as I lay bare.

Silly me, I’ve learnt my lesson,
Silly me, the results are being shown,
Silly me will never do that again,
For Christ’s sake, I don’t want pain!

Poem Number 46 - Living Our Lives By Ourselves - 18/2/1984

This is not the season for breaking the ice,
This is not the separation I need to have.
My heart is not wondering, who I like,
Nor is it telling me, to go on a hike.

In my life, I am told I have been trouble,
Confusion I have caused for sure, tonight.
But, from somewhere high, as lit as light,
I was sensing that the best for me, to leave right away.

I tried leaving, without Michelle knowing (Who has been my other half).
Is that what I would like to do, is hurt. No!
I am definitely sure that I have done the right thing,
But I left because of all sorts of known different reasons.

My girl's mum was a heart of gold,
Yet, I did cause some conflict and hardship within her family.
I have been told numerously by all, how silly I am,
And how psychiatric treatment is required by me.

I come back to my own mum and dad’s to work things out for myself.
I will not stay long.
As I have to find a place I need to grow, to be a man,
As I know, I surely can!

My hearts throbbing as if I want to hold Michelle, tightly,
Mum and Dad’s car has been packed already.
Debbie’s throwing items, directly at my body,
The sadness of my departure was plain stakingly showing on both of our faces.

My poor girl, whom I left in tears,
Wondering why I’m doing this to her.
So far, our relationship had been great for us,
As we needed to be living, our lives by ourselves.
