FROM THE POET

This is a series of poems written by John Svododa over a number of years. There are times of peak-where numerous poems were written & there are also times of lows where there are long periods between each poem. As the author is trying to reach a goal of 1001 (and then retire!!) it was never envisaged that this would be done over a short period of time. Poems can be humorous, ridiculing someone or something, show a meaning of hurt or love or even project feelings that not necessarily be directed to the same person/thing, can be a reflection of life or to be life. Most poems are trying to send a message to the reader be it not understandable or nonsense.

The idea of this poet is not to have any ill feelings against anyone but to be read by young whom can learn about life – and by the elderly look back at what could have been. Some are very personal- but who cares when you are currently living in a life that has total enjoyment. Suggestion is not to criticize but to take in the enjoyment of creative poetry make it meaningful and thus may be you can be an author.

Poem Number - Foreign Parents

This is the time we think of our sins against others that have passed away,
The ones that gave us life, suffered pain and nurtured us to growth, in each way,
They that paid for your clothes, food, drinks, drove us to school,
They that checked you report and sometime when from hot to cool.

They smacked us in need, they yelled as we had to be yelled,
They gave only food and water for one week for my words of back hand,
I not know that should I have  been listening more closer to them,
I would have been what they wanted me to be for them.

For I not knew the hard lives they lead in there country of origin,
Coming from wars where lives were lost in millions,
They they came here with no father, no mother and no brother or sister,
They that started a family with pride of joy no matter if it was girl or boy.

I now plead for their  the voices of Mum and Dad to be heard,
I now ask for they listen in heaven for my prayers to be heard,
I now ask God for forgiveness for not making me hear them, then,
I now know I much love they had for me and for to them.

As each year passes, as each month passes, as each day passes,
The great memmories shared are the great memories cared, in minutes,
For I am the son of parents that made my life easy to live,
And now as I remember them, have my children easier in their life.

Bless Mum And Dad

Poem Number - Is It All About Me? 2/6/2014

Is it all about me that lives in this world,
Is it all about me to have followed my parents,
Is it all about me to complete my high school education,
Is it all about me to grow up and and have friends.

Is it all about me to bring home a girlfriend,
Is it all about me to advertise my love for someone else,
Is it all about me that a woman chose myself for everlasting love,
Is it all about me to ridicule others an not feel shame.

Is it all about me that d the married the woman to share my life,
Is it all about me that we are from different backgrounds,
Is it all about me that both my wife and myself have children.
Is it all about me that I took a stand for Public Transport
                           within the community.

Is it all about me that I can speak to one another openly
                           to hundreds,
Is it all about me that every day I worry what lies ahead,
Is it all about me I have humiliated others by leaving
                     provocation of the community.

Is it all about me that I ashamed others for not finishing a job
Is it all about me that others are happy and I may be sad,
Is it all about  seme that I need be loved by others,
Is it all about me that I have served and not served more,
Is it all about me and not about loving my beautiful wife.

Is it all about me and not listening to God's call,
Is it all about me doing something bad rather than not at all,
Is it all about me that makes the world listen,
Is it all about me that I know when to turn one.

All I wanted in my life since my father passed away,
Is the world and our community to have each person a happy day,
Now time has come to place closure of what I have done as a
                               community group,
And a new page in my life is now to care for the people in my
                               family group.

I ask f no one to judge myself  of my actions,
I ask that we care and love one another,
As God and Jesus so truly love you,
I ask this on behalf of The Father, Son and The Holy Spirit.

Poem Number 241 - Surfing Like A Surfer - 4/1/1988

Like a professional surfer riding on top of a quick wave,
Like an amateur bodysurfer being dumped buy this same wave,
Like a life saver out on this first mission to life-save,
We all try hard to attain a high ranking in our sports of career.

As you hear sometimes the thunderous crashing of waves upon still rocks,
As you hear the echoing of light waves reaching the seaside,
As you see the ocean’s distance,
And wonder from where do they commence!

The physical aspect, the strength that is show,
The composite attitude towards one’s personal goal,
The support that is given and enormousity of the publicity,
Is what makes a boy a man and a girl a woman.

Tears of tiredness, over exercising total energy,
Or laughs of joy for an excellent result,
But out into surfing the real fun begins,
With all kinds of surf craft floating all over the place.

You hear one expert converse with his mate,
‘Out there today, there’s not much chop!’
Or a joyous conversation with his same mate, next day,
‘Gees it’s really good out there. It’s choice!’

Surfing like a surfer catching the best of waves,
Being tossed around whilst catching one wave,
To have saltwater from the sea continuously splashing on your face,
Is to make me wonder why they do surf?

Poem Number 24 - Hearts Of Love - 16/11/1983

The deep blue sea,
I can see in your eyes.
As the sun shines brightly, over your head,
And then, the sun is reflecting onto me.

I don’t like to see you unhappy, in anyway at all,
As I see the smiles on your faces, run away.
The splendour and the glory of our hearts of love,
As we’re really feeling happier, than all the clouds above.

I know that we’ve remembered all our cheerful times,
What we have shared, in our lives so far.
We both have the courage and the strength, to endure,
We are also young and also a loot more mature.

The days are gone, when we knew where we went wrong,
As the days are shedding, the darkness makes the light stronger.

Poem Number 13 - Outdoor Bush - 23/10/1983

As I hear, the wind from the outdoors,
I listen to the nice sounds of the bush.
And then I turn on the TV, radio and video,
Listening to the voice that records the day’s events.

While I awake, a new day is beginning,
To reveal the history of the day, before,
I then turn to see my darling wife, asleep,
She doesn’t know the news of the day.

Sadness seems to be, the depression on the “News headline”,
Songs are being sung, like two lovers rowing down a flowing stream.
Then, you watch the heroes of the academic world,
Leaders are they all, fighting their battle with thunder and lightening.
