FROM THE POET

This is a series of poems written by John Svododa over a number of years. There are times of peak-where numerous poems were written & there are also times of lows where there are long periods between each poem. As the author is trying to reach a goal of 1001 (and then retire!!) it was never envisaged that this would be done over a short period of time. Poems can be humorous, ridiculing someone or something, show a meaning of hurt or love or even project feelings that not necessarily be directed to the same person/thing, can be a reflection of life or to be life. Most poems are trying to send a message to the reader be it not understandable or nonsense.

The idea of this poet is not to have any ill feelings against anyone but to be read by young whom can learn about life – and by the elderly look back at what could have been. Some are very personal- but who cares when you are currently living in a life that has total enjoyment. Suggestion is not to criticize but to take in the enjoyment of creative poetry make it meaningful and thus may be you can be an author.

Poem Number 224 - Another Application - 30/10/1987

This bureaucracy of departments within ‘Aust’,
Is to the finer point, so legalistic,
To enquire for permanent employment,
On behalf of my future wife, who holds a holiday visa.

They tell me that legally she can’t be employed,
Until she receives an ‘O.K’, from the Immigration Department,
Whilst I am speaking to an officer of the Department of Commonwealth Employment Service,
So I make my excited call to this office.

And to my great surprise, there was more problems arising,
Since we are both getting married on December fifth.
On the seventh day, we lodge the application for permanent residence,
With another application called, ‘Application for Permanent Engagement Employment’.

Now, if you just submit both forms together and leave it with the ’Public Services’,
It may take another month before they agree to the ‘employment one’.
But if you are smart enough, you arrive there at nine in the morn,
Explain your circumstances and request for ‘Quick Assessment’.

This, if the request is accepted will be ‘O.K’d’ straight away,
Then my wife could legally start employment, straight away.
So that we both have incomes to build on in our life,
And live a life of a proper husband and wife.

Poem Number 223 - Time To Come - 29/10/1987

Isn’t it wonderful to start a new family?
To decide in stars, how you will live with the woman in your life?
Each day presenting problems to solve, of which affect your family,
The problems of keeping to a unique plan for your everlasting life.

A new beginning, starts today with no end to the night,
The early morning shines after a short spray of showers,
To show the magic colors of the rainbow with the pot of gold,
For it is the rainbow, that leads the pathway to your lives.

Where there is an ending, there is found good fortune,
And for most living people of good Christian faith,
Their good fortune takes years and years of inner search,
With love of God’s family and all the families you know of.

There’s harmony of music in the soundless air,
But when you finally reach the end, the good fortune will be written there,
Satisfaction you will feel, if you so be deserve so,
Otherwise God will shake his head to say, ‘No’.

To have extend a family of a woman in my life,
To enjoy calling all of my in-laws, ‘Hello’,
To be thinking of children of the children we birth,
Is to be secure, important, sensible and positive of time to come.

Poem Number 222 - The Leader Of The Family - 28/10/1987

Decision making for another person I care for,
Is something that I haven’t had the chance to do before,
In some ways it makes you feel a little bit important,
But to be asked to do small jobs that end up with the decision feeling so good.

As a man of the future, marriage to the woman I dearly love,
I feel proud. I feel like the man I should have been years ago.
My pride is of my fiancé, who is perfect for me,
She pleases me to my hearts delight and stretches my daily smile.

To enquire of canceling her flight away,
To enquire of her important future employment,
To organize employment interviews, home dinner and togetherness sleep,
Is to pre-act the role of a true husband to mind.

How lovely it is to make the final assessment,
How unusual it is for me to make the important decision.
Does it mean that with my believe that a man is dominant,
When a man and a woman are in a deep relationship?

I know that saying that, will cause the feminists to wonder,
They may think I’m a male chauvinistic bastard,
Let them think of whatever enters their mind,
For centuries, the man has always been ‘The leader of his family’.

Poem Number 221 - The Human Cycle - 25/10/1987

We are all born to live and eventually die,
But yet, there is a life, everlasting life,
After this death on this human earth,
This is the human cycle that is made of its worth.

Poem Number 220 - Women-Men - 23/10/1987

A marriage to a sweet young genuine woman,
A woman of such beautifullness, offspring’s of tender love,
A woman who respects a man, for the person he is,
As long as he looks after with proper sense of mankind to her.

No displeasing actions of hatred or anger,
No feelings of jealousy, or any sign of unhappiness.
Just mature adult reactions of good-natured people,
To soften the hearts and minds of one’s such loved.

Men are not considered to be, the most softhearted of the sexes,
And the ones that are to the extreme soft-heart, in styles of life,
Are considered the female of a homosexual relationship,
Of which society disregards their performance of life.

Women are considered not to be the stronger in strength of the sexes,
Yet the woman who are so strong, in their styles of life,
Are considered to be the male, of a homosexual relationship,
Of which society ignores their performance of life.

Poem Number 219 - Fire, Land, Air And Water - 23/10/1987

My day of glory of everlasting happiness,
Is such a time of joy and smiles.
To my true hearts future, there is a bright light a shining,
A shining with glows of a startling rainbow stream.

The water, land, air are being sensed about,
The fire that burns the land, to bring new bush,
The air that helps the fire burns or stops the fires movements,
The water that puts out the fire and with air helps mother’s nature grow on land.

To be the fire, I am not,
To be the land I feel touched,
To be the air, I may be,
But to be the water, I will be.

This day of finalizing our marriage arrangements,
This day of warm, friendly and unforgettable forth comings,
Is a day of remembrance for my sweet fiancé and me,
To be proud of being together, with such love and tender care.

I am so proud to have met and to have loved,
I feel so happy to be loved and for me to love.
Yes! For the first time in my life, I will be joining my hand’s wife, a beautiful life,
A wife who cares, a wife whom loves and a wife who completely understands.

Poem Number 218 - Marriage Of Future - 23/10/1987

To this date, marriage has not meant more to others,
Than just two people signing a legal document of ‘life binding’.
People seem to marry divorce and again marry & divorce,
Yet so many first marriages seem to represent false images of two people’s love.

Marriage is such an important step and decision in ones adult life,
That we even hear of marriages of conveniences.
Who knows if they couple that sign this document a both?
Are genuinely interested to share the rest of their lives together.

And yet, dramatically once living together under the same roof,
There seems to be a change in lifestyle for the individual.
Not realizing that for a continuous happy marriage,
Joint plans of every nature must be to both’s delight.

So correct decisions must be made on behalf of two not just one,
And on the way to the futures success, there should be a little fun.
Communication of all sorts must be attended too,
So that doesn’t get his or her wires crossed.

My marriage of future will be one of thoughtful thinking,
With my wife I will talk and listen for anything of importance.
Whilst plans of long term goals are passed by us,
I will always have fun, laughter and happiness with my gracious wife.

Poem Number 217 - Fruitful Love - 21/10/1987

Sleepless night I had of last, leaving me with two hours of rest,
With Nirmala, I was entangled between the bed linen sheets.
Thousands of kisses were exchanged throughout the night,
Our passion for love was expressed in real action of desires.

The warmth of her skin had touched me like an alarming sweet sound of music,
And her lips of soft abounded flesh, meeting me half way for a gentle kiss.
We awoke up a few times to comfort ourselves to sensible talk,
But like no time was passing away, we had rested all night long.

Like two lonely people living on earth forever more,
With not one other living soul, not even the poor:
No one to disturb us, no one else to talk too.
Just us two: you and me, having a snooze.

I kept my mind on the fruitful love that was brought upon us,
The love, a million of love could not be matched to Nirmala’s love.
Like a solid castle of love and understanding,
With the outside guards fighting to save the ‘King’ and ‘Queen”.

Poem Number 216 - Face Of Smiles - 20/10/1987

Smiles galore, was the message of last Sunday,
Where it was my first outing with my decided girl of future.
We had kept our hopes on it being such a warm and adventurous day,
And I think God must have made the day for us, and not for anyone else.

Being so excited in this such memorable day (in my diary),
I woke up with such anticipation, eager to start the day on time.
Writing down my lively plans of the kind of marriage, we’d like,
I felt like, to push the train, closer to my point of arrival.

Before I could knock on the front door, of her sister’s house,
There she was in such beauty of a woman, with power of flowers.
Her hair all combed to suit one’s own delight,
Her dress that flourished with soft green flowers, also with a touch of with ray of light.

Her lips creamed with red lipsticks of deep fresh strawberry,
As I sneak-looked upon her charmful face of smiles,
From the moment we were dropped to the train station,
Our hands wouldn’t separate, the love we shared.

We talked of our future, we asked questions of our future,
We walked so slowly, to join our lips together,
Showing each other the care, love and affection,
That we will share for the entire rest of our married lives.

Our hearts came so close to throbbing on time,
As she touched me with such tenderness and care of a kind lady,
And I kept stopping from talk, to a passionate kiss
Yet, neither one of us were embarrassed of being publicly known.

At times I kept thinking of the living life we will be living,
To be satisfying each other’s, by most of the methods of all mankind.
As I feel so warm and happy, deep down inside me,
The doors of locked dams open out to be seen.

Leaving a smooth air of security, for a long time I haven’t had,
With dreams and thoughts are bound in realistic love,
To chosen and to be chosen, is a gift from almighty God,
But be wise, careful and to be true selectively on your partner is a dream of your life.

For a woman to agree to what is aid by a man,
For a woman to listen so carefully, to what is being said,
To keep the peace, whilst minds and bodies are set at ease,
T’is the proud ness of a strong and very good relationship between any people.

The close of the day had seen the opening of hearts, for both of us,
Like a discovery of an untouched country of many desires.

Poem Number 215 - Fulfillment In Happiness - 19/10/1987

Our hearts keep on pumping to the tune of merry words,
It is this day that the sun shines its bright rays of light.
Whilst the night sparkles with stars that glow forever more,
The darkness of which, reminds us that ‘badness’ is about.

We, as each human want us to be glorified, in every way,
Yet we cannot take the unfortunate answer as ‘failure’, at task.
Is it that we do think of ourselves too much, as to say?
Or is it our trusting ourselves of reaching individual goals?

Where does our strength lie, in reaching our priority opportunities?
Do we realize that we tread on others, to completely wipe them out?
Are we (whom of which we believe in), love others in a so alike fashion?
Why is it that we treat others like dirt and yet don’t like the same treatment?

Standing up in such a comfortable position,
Both moving from side to side or forward and backs,
May seem to be an easy task to do and take on,
But as soon as time passes by, you collapse and fall down.

This just goes to show you, that your strength in life is not by yourself,
The people around you, that helps you when you fall down flat on your nose,
Are the much personal strength you gain and how you perfect on them,
Is the ultimate result of your life’s fulfillment in happiness.

Poem Number 214 - Black Friday - 13/10/1987

Today is the thirteenth day of the month,
Today as well, is the Friday of the good week,
But the day is supposed to have an evil touch about it,
Only because it is commonly known as, ‘Black Friday’!

This is where people who are physics’ are having a bad day,
A day where everything goes completely wrong for them,
A day where the end and beginning wasn’t right for them,
A day where the next day will be comforting for them.

Poem Number 213 - Joy And Sweetness - 13/10/1987

A sweet anew of a young lady I know,
Her sincereness has brought good faith back in me.
Soften are her hands, her eyes glow in the lime light,
Her face is as pure as a newborn child.

With startled eyes I look so, in love.
To have gone out with the girl of my true dreams:
The weeks we have shared together,
The days that seem so precious to us all.

Clearer is my thoughts of current life, not to be drunken in the past,
I stand tall with beautiness fulfilling the earth.
Whilst the unclean air smothers children to the ground,
I want to marry Nirmala and take her a home.

Has God’s light striked upon myself, with no evil fears/
Have I the courage to tell my parents of my trueborn dream?
May I be so blessed to have met such a wonderful character woman?
And does that liketh me, want to hold her hand with me on the altar?

Till death to dust and ashes return to ashes,
We (I am sue) are blessed with the fruits of God:
The fruits of everlasting love, for evermore,
And the needs of eternal growth of joy and the happiness.

Poem Number 212 - Daytime Dreams - 10/10/1987

Daytime dreams walking ‘around’ town all the times,
Imaginations of the past, present and the future,
Make us live a life of a nomad man,
Not finding the right way to lead our life on.

And there she is, walking on her own,
I want to go and ask her to come back to my own love home.
Yet I have never met her pretty face,
Maybe I should join the walking blind human race!

A strangled rope, I see right afore me,
My senseless life, I want to cut myself off,
But no sooner than my committed suicide attempt,
She had saved me from the darker side.

A walking kiss she gave to me,
Hugging me tight, not letting me go,
Laying me down to a sexual sleep,
She had stayed with me all night to morn.
