FROM THE POET

This is a series of poems written by John Svododa over a number of years. There are times of peak-where numerous poems were written & there are also times of lows where there are long periods between each poem. As the author is trying to reach a goal of 1001 (and then retire!!) it was never envisaged that this would be done over a short period of time. Poems can be humorous, ridiculing someone or something, show a meaning of hurt or love or even project feelings that not necessarily be directed to the same person/thing, can be a reflection of life or to be life. Most poems are trying to send a message to the reader be it not understandable or nonsense.

The idea of this poet is not to have any ill feelings against anyone but to be read by young whom can learn about life – and by the elderly look back at what could have been. Some are very personal- but who cares when you are currently living in a life that has total enjoyment. Suggestion is not to criticize but to take in the enjoyment of creative poetry make it meaningful and thus may be you can be an author.

Poem Number 223 - Time To Come - 29/10/1987

Isn’t it wonderful to start a new family?
To decide in stars, how you will live with the woman in your life?
Each day presenting problems to solve, of which affect your family,
The problems of keeping to a unique plan for your everlasting life.

A new beginning, starts today with no end to the night,
The early morning shines after a short spray of showers,
To show the magic colors of the rainbow with the pot of gold,
For it is the rainbow, that leads the pathway to your lives.

Where there is an ending, there is found good fortune,
And for most living people of good Christian faith,
Their good fortune takes years and years of inner search,
With love of God’s family and all the families you know of.

There’s harmony of music in the soundless air,
But when you finally reach the end, the good fortune will be written there,
Satisfaction you will feel, if you so be deserve so,
Otherwise God will shake his head to say, ‘No’.

To have extend a family of a woman in my life,
To enjoy calling all of my in-laws, ‘Hello’,
To be thinking of children of the children we birth,
Is to be secure, important, sensible and positive of time to come.
