FROM THE POET

This is a series of poems written by John Svododa over a number of years. There are times of peak-where numerous poems were written & there are also times of lows where there are long periods between each poem. As the author is trying to reach a goal of 1001 (and then retire!!) it was never envisaged that this would be done over a short period of time. Poems can be humorous, ridiculing someone or something, show a meaning of hurt or love or even project feelings that not necessarily be directed to the same person/thing, can be a reflection of life or to be life. Most poems are trying to send a message to the reader be it not understandable or nonsense.

The idea of this poet is not to have any ill feelings against anyone but to be read by young whom can learn about life – and by the elderly look back at what could have been. Some are very personal- but who cares when you are currently living in a life that has total enjoyment. Suggestion is not to criticize but to take in the enjoyment of creative poetry make it meaningful and thus may be you can be an author.

Poem Number 115 - One Way Mind - 17/6/1986

Cool, calm and relaxed is the air,
Making me float in my dreams.
When the crowd or races, shut their eyes,
To see the way I enjoy these precious moments.

To look upon yonder at the fertile land,
Is the sensation of the beauty of mine.
As if no one wanted to speak to me,
And to bother me with weary problems.

Just breathing in, the warm moist air,
Just wonder what mixture of carbon dioxide, it is in.
Just plain old whinging me,
Releasing my tongue from chained jungle words.

Mot mention that a feathered animal,
Is searching for crusts of uneaten food.
Like a poor unhygienic male beggar,
Pouring outwards his hand, bludging for his living.

Not I can poor enough,
To live a life in the lower class.
Nor can I, with money,
Buy all the world’s brass.

I need not search for what I have before,
As what was lost is now completely found.
Her one track pureness, really intrigues me,
As I also agree in thinking the one way mind.

Equality, I don’t believe in with men and woman,
As there are certain distinct differences in-between.
Of course both sexes are equal in requirements,
To fulfill the other’s needs.

But there are physical aspects of argumental sake,
Which doesn’t clear the other’s mind in achievement.
It’s like, for example after twenty years or working,
Another, whom is efficient, replaces you immediately.

You feel cheated and double-crossed,
And your temperature rises,
As you keep on wondering,
If what you had done was wrong. AND IT WASN”T!

I believe that the man should be a gentle man,
And look after his woman, as a “lord’s lady”,
To comfort her with flourishing kisses,
And to sweep the red carpet for her, every day.
