FROM THE POET

This is a series of poems written by John Svododa over a number of years. There are times of peak-where numerous poems were written & there are also times of lows where there are long periods between each poem. As the author is trying to reach a goal of 1001 (and then retire!!) it was never envisaged that this would be done over a short period of time. Poems can be humorous, ridiculing someone or something, show a meaning of hurt or love or even project feelings that not necessarily be directed to the same person/thing, can be a reflection of life or to be life. Most poems are trying to send a message to the reader be it not understandable or nonsense.

The idea of this poet is not to have any ill feelings against anyone but to be read by young whom can learn about life – and by the elderly look back at what could have been. Some are very personal- but who cares when you are currently living in a life that has total enjoyment. Suggestion is not to criticize but to take in the enjoyment of creative poetry make it meaningful and thus may be you can be an author.

Poem Number 116 - just Be Yourself - 20/6/1986

Cold! Oh, how suddenly cold it is!
The wind blowing, so strong,
How can I find the solution, to not being cold?
Is there an answer, in my day of age?

Can I think of someone, woman to be?
To be warmingly wrapped up in satin sheets?
To be shedding her tears and sharing her laughs,
To tell me of such warm relaxing dreams?

For her to respond to my actions and words,
For her to display such devotion and care,
For her to touch and feel such temptuous ideas,
That she is not scared to do.

As she will show loves’ strength,
And not to be feeling so, so tense,
As she will always be with me,
To encourage and support.

Let her tenderness spread towards me,
Let her hair, hang long-on down,
Let her naked-woman body,
Trust the man, of whom she loves.

Bring in the right time,
Bring in the right place,
Bring in the right mind,
To bring in, the unborn child.

Think consistently of mother’s nature,
Where as, there’s no kingdom that is empty.
Think of the beauty and the beasts of animals,
Then go to the wilderness and try to start a new society.

Don’t uncover the sheets until dawn!
Don’t suddenly jump up, get dressed and run away!
Don’t be separated by the one that you love!
For togetherness is the result of closely bodied humans.

Just be you! Don’t make anyone change your image,
Just be in a mood of good, for you and for him.
Just think and think of the future wonderful times ahead,
Just keep yourself: warm, cuddly, cut and stay in bed.
