FROM THE POET

This is a series of poems written by John Svododa over a number of years. There are times of peak-where numerous poems were written & there are also times of lows where there are long periods between each poem. As the author is trying to reach a goal of 1001 (and then retire!!) it was never envisaged that this would be done over a short period of time. Poems can be humorous, ridiculing someone or something, show a meaning of hurt or love or even project feelings that not necessarily be directed to the same person/thing, can be a reflection of life or to be life. Most poems are trying to send a message to the reader be it not understandable or nonsense.

The idea of this poet is not to have any ill feelings against anyone but to be read by young whom can learn about life – and by the elderly look back at what could have been. Some are very personal- but who cares when you are currently living in a life that has total enjoyment. Suggestion is not to criticize but to take in the enjoyment of creative poetry make it meaningful and thus may be you can be an author.

Poem Number 106 - Hold Her, So Tightly - 6/6/1986

I am a man that loves to make love,
While asleep, in the middle of the night,
If a beautiful woman lies beside,
I would hold her, so tightly.

It’s not awkward, as it is mutual response,
And it creates sweet pleasant dreams,
Until the sunrise in the early dawn,
And both of our lips meet and are together drawn.

Most sexual relationships of partners,
Would not even think of this kind of making love.
They would do it first thing, at night,
And fight first thing in the morn.

There has to be a deep understanding,
A signal from both to know each other’s steps:
With the man acting like a silver-dressed knight,
And the woman with the laced golden brown clothes.
To enlighten the darkness of any night,
That encourages a strong and friendly relationship.

If the time is not right,
If the atmosphere and hours does not feel right,
If one of them don’t want to love, at that time,
Then just respond by not being rude, and accept it!

There will always be a better time,
There will always be better moods,
There will always be a better chance,
As there should be no feeling of guilt.
