FROM THE POET

This is a series of poems written by John Svododa over a number of years. There are times of peak-where numerous poems were written & there are also times of lows where there are long periods between each poem. As the author is trying to reach a goal of 1001 (and then retire!!) it was never envisaged that this would be done over a short period of time. Poems can be humorous, ridiculing someone or something, show a meaning of hurt or love or even project feelings that not necessarily be directed to the same person/thing, can be a reflection of life or to be life. Most poems are trying to send a message to the reader be it not understandable or nonsense.

The idea of this poet is not to have any ill feelings against anyone but to be read by young whom can learn about life – and by the elderly look back at what could have been. Some are very personal- but who cares when you are currently living in a life that has total enjoyment. Suggestion is not to criticize but to take in the enjoyment of creative poetry make it meaningful and thus may be you can be an author.

Poem Number - 'Special Living Day' - 1/1/2015

Lord God, we pray that you forgive us of all our sins,
We pray that you see your love within all our lives,
Lord God, we thank you for the life on earth you have given each of us.
It is within each of our lives that you have made each person special.

Lord God, we pray for eternal peace, love and understanding of each individual person,
We pray that as loving individuals we do not commit sins against anyone,
We pray all people's and anyone's belief s in their own religion are united as one,
We pray for anyone's so called, 'enemy' to become our own friend.

Lord God, we pray that people listen, learn and give time to your 'Holy Word'!
We pray that our politicians, church/religious and community leaders, preach the 'Right Words',
We pray that all people around the world are given food and fed daily,
We pray that the one that can give: can give from their heart, rightfully.

Lord God, it is for you only that we live and breathe,
Lord God, is for you that we pray from the New Year: for your 'breath of life',
Lord God, we pray for others that don't have time to pray,
And finally, Lord God, we pray you make all of our lives happy in every special living day.
Amen
